The ingredients needed to prepare Lasagna:

  1. You need 1 lb of Sweet Italian sausage.
  2. Prepare 3/4 lb of Lean ground beef.
  3. Provide 1/2 cup of Minced onions.
  4. Take 2 clove of Garlic (crushed).
  5. Take 1 can of Crushed tomatoes.
  6. You need 2 can of Tomato paste.
  7. Use 2 can of Tomato sauce.
  8. Get 1/2 cup of Water.
  9. Prepare 2 tbsp of White sugar.
  10. Provide 1 1/2 tsp of Dried basil leaves.
  11. Use 1/2 tsp of Fennel seeds.
  12. You need 1 tsp of Italian seasoning.
  13. Provide 1 tbsp of Salt.
  14. Take 4 tbsp of Chopped fresh parsley.
  15. Use 12 of Lasagna noodles.
  16. Get 16 of Ricotta cheese.
  17. Prepare 1 of Egg.
  18. Use 1/2 tsp of Salt.
  19. Take 3/4 lb of Sliced mozzarella cheese.
  20. Provide 1/4 tsp of Ground black pepper.
  21. Provide 3/4 cup of Grated cheese.

Instructions to make Lasagna:

  1. In a big pot, cook sausage, ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until well browned. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water. Season with sugar, basil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, 1 tbs of salt, pepper, and 2 tbs parsley. Simmer,covered for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally..
  2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes. Drain noodles, and rinse with cold water. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with egg, remaining parsley, and 1/2 tsp salt.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190 degrees c).
  4. To assemble, spread 1 1/2 cups if meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Arrange 6 noodles length wise over meat sauce. Spread with one hold of the ricotta cheese mixture. Top with a third mozzarella cheese slices. Spoon 1 1/2 cups meat sauce over mozzarella, and sprinkle with 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Repeat layers, and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cover with foil: to prevent sticking, either spray foil with cooking spray or make sure the foil doesn't touch the cheese.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes, remove foil, and bake an additional 25 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.
